Dear Colleagues,
We are pleased to invite you to the 19th Beyer-Machule Course, a training course for plastic and reconstructive eyelid surgery. The course will take place from October 22 to 24, 2026, at the Eye Clinic of Ludwig Maximilian University in Munich.
Interest in ophthalmic plastic, reconstructive, and aesthetic surgery remains strong, and the need for adequate patient care continues to be significant. The Munich “Plastic Course” addresses this need by offering colleagues from all relevant disciplines in hospitals and private practice the opportunity to learn about the principles and established surgical techniques of plastic-reconstructive eyelid surgery and to deepen their existing knowledge.
This year, a focus will be on the diagnosis and modern treatment of lacrimal drainage system disorders.
Renowned experts will share their knowledge and experience with you. Practice-oriented and detailed presentations of relevant surgical methods—complemented by video contributions—will help you plan and successfully perform procedures on the eyelids and periorbital region. In addition to selecting appropriate surgical techniques, questions of indication and timing continue to present challenges.
Ample time will be provided for questions and discussion (Q&A). The event will be conducted in both English and German. An industry exhibition featuring specialized products will complement the course.
Due to the positive feedback in recent years, the practical exercises introducing suturing techniques and basic eyelid procedures will again be offered on Saturday morning in the form of a wet lab using animal cadavers. This component is intended as an introduction to hands-on practice and has very limited capacity.
The Working Group for Plastic-Reconstructive Eyelid and Orbital Surgery at the Eye Clinic of Ludwig Maximilian University looks forward to your participation and wishes you an engaging conference, stimulating discussions, and pleasant days in autumnal Munich.
